A busy life

Hmmm. It's been a while. First thing, I had my FIRST date this month! It was fun! Today and yesterday I had choir concerts where I stood so long that my back and feet hurt like there was no tomorrow. And on Friday (I think) I cried for about five minutes when I learned that my little brother (who is 11) decided that he wanted to get baptized into my church. I am so grateful for that. Oh yes, I also joined a gym. It is a woman's only gym so it has privacy. And because I do Zumba on Thursdays, I learned that I have weak ankles and I also hear some pretty wicked songs, which I just HAD to add to my playlist.
Speaking of playlists, here are the first 10 songs in my Christmas playlist:
1. Carol of the Bells by the Transiberian Orchestra featuring Metallica
2. Jingle Bell Rock
3. The Christmas Shoes
4. Run Rudolph by Chuck Berry
5. Hark the Harold Angels Sing by Straight no Chaser (?)
6. Angels We Have Heard on High by David Archuleta
7. Step Into Christmas by Elton John
8. Something About Christmas Time by Bryan Adams
9. Your a Mean one Mr. Grinch
10. 12 days of Christmas by the birds and the bee (?)

Music and Whatnot

I think that everyday I will say five of the songs on my playlist. Because I want you to see how diverse my musicsal interest really is. Yeah, some of the songs will make you go "How can she stand that! It is horrible!" But I just don't really care. Music is great. Yeah, sometimes there are elements in the music that are not quite....well not good. But I don't know, there is just something about the song that makes me want to listen to whatever it is.  So the first 5 songs on my first playlist (which, by the way, I have 7 playlists, one of them being my friends)

"Bean Poles Playlist"
1. Makes Me Wonder by Maroon 5
2. Sunday Morning by Maroon 5
3. This Love by Maroon 5
4. Better That We Break by Maroon 5
5. She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5

Pretty much, alot of my music is in clumps of the same genre or artist, so you will see alot of the same things together. But as a whole, it is REALLY diverse.

I have to talk about these bands I have discovered. Five Finger Death Punch and Thousand Foot Crutch. Yeah, they sound sort of...depressing. BUT they are pretty dang good! So I suggest that if you want to hear something amazing, look up their music. I suggest playlist.com.

Since today is sunday, I wanna post something kinda of church-ish. Don't worry it isn't a sermon. It is something my brother showed me on YouTube called Bible Baseball. I think it was from the Bob and Tom Show originally. It isnt really anything to watch, just listen. I didn't even watch it. You really will only get it if you know a little bit about the Bible. Here is the link. Tell me waht you think! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBU5e2HqcrA

Fun little fact about me: I like to listen to classical music while doing my homework :D
Happy Sunday!

Time

It seems that I almost never time to write in this blog. I either have homework or some other random thing that I have to do. And when I do have time, I tend to prefer spending it reading. Honestly, when I started this blog, I did not think that I would neglect it as much as aI have. I do check up on it, but I have not taken the time to write a new post. Since I have some time and I have been wanting to add another post, I decided that I should do it now. Considering the fact that I have nothing to say at this moment, I don't think I will talk about anything, therefore this post is pointless. But since I hate having pointless things to say, I shall give this post a reason for existing. I wrote a rap recently. Do you wanna hear it??

Books

I read three books last week. Not like the miniscule 100 page things, but not 400 pagers either. More like 200 to 300 pagers. They were good, but kinda depressing. In the book I'm reading now, the character's dad commits suicide. A little while later he finds his little brother, who is in kindergarten, tying the laundry line around there dog's neck, saying he wanted the dog to commit suicide so that he can find their dad. It just tore me up when I read that. The book is called "After" by Francis Chalifour. Despite just reading a sad post written by yours truly, have  an amazing day, and remember SMILE!!!!

An Artistic Day

At school today, there was this riddle competition, and whoever wrote the "best" riddle in my class got a prize. And it just so happens that the teacher picked mine. We had to write riddles about figures in the Iliad. My riddle, in my opinion, was fairly simple. See if you can figure it out:

I ran swift, so swift
To tell the man
Who is strong and courageous
To not lend a hand

Well, I can't remember the exact wording, but I'm pretty sure that was it. Can you figure it out? The figure is the Goddess Iris.

To add to the pleasure of my win, it rained today. Rain is magnificent, beautiful, cleansing. I love the rain. Because the rain tends to inspire artistic desires in some people, I guess I'll share another poem. This one is the latest poem I have written, and its kind of odd. If my journal was not in storage, I would be sharing a poem I wrote about a storm in seventh grade, but since my journal IS in storage, I'll just make due with what I have.

The Ice Man
Whenever you are around
I can feel
Your Chill

Your icy presence
Affects me
Takes a deathly grasp on my warm soul

You affect me like
A stone
Rippling the pool of my heart

Your look
The way you stare in my eyes
I can feel your pain

You hurt
But I don't care
Anymore

And every time I see you
I can hear how much you want me
Miss me

But I will never come back to you
You suffer now
As you should

All your remorse
I can sense it
In the way you move

Across the room from you
When you notice me
I can taste your urge to speak to me

But I know who you are
You are the Man of Ice
And you freeze everyone

You try to hold on to people
But they just melt
Right through your cold stiff fingers

And that's the way your life
Is doomed to be
Losing the ones you want to keep

A little bit of a downer for such a glorious day. Oh well! Let me know what you think!
Love,
Andrea

And again, I shall talk about Music

I have two songs that are currently my favorite that I can actually name, and possibly two more that I can not. I am in LOVE with Misery by Maroon 5 and Take it Off by Ke$ha. Especially the seconed one. If it were up to me, life would have background music. I already have music running through my head almost constantly. There is rarely a time when there is NOT a song stuck in my noggin. I listen to music when I get ready to go places, and while I do work. I love almost any kind of music too, so it does not matter to me what is playing. What about all of you who read this? What is your current favorite song? Any type of music that you find particularly amazing?

"Anger"

This is a poem I wrote back in middle school. Not a poem of good quality, better poems will come later, but I actually found my poetry journal, and I guess I'll just work my way through it. Hope you enjoy this poem called "Anger"!

"Anger"

Anger
It wells up inside me
It's both from my life's sorrows
And irritation
And inner pleading.
A flurry of emotion.
It brings on outbursts
O different sorts.
It sends hot tears
Streaming down my face.
It creates harsh feelings
And actions toward friends
And loved ones.
Nearly impossible to resist,
So hard to push away.
Happiness has left.
So much cofusion.
I has washed itself
Upon the surface of my heart.
I think I feel
Its cold water seeping in.
Can anyone help
This terrible emotion I feel?
This
Anger?

Wow, that was worse than I remember it. I guess it was okay. Oh well, let me know what you think!

Busy

I didn't expect it to take me this long to be able to get back to my blog. I have been pretty busy lately, with a huge Math project, than a huge Geography project, which I haven't finished yet. I have been working on making friends with the new Freshman. As I've heard from many Sophomores, the Freshman are jerks, but the experiences I have with them are positive. They seem pretty doggone nice to me. Actually, to use an English vocab word, they are very affable. On to music and lately, I have been pretty into 3Oh!3....great band. They have amazing voices, I love listening to them.

High School

Today was the first day back at my high school after a three day weekend. Exciting, right? :) I dealt with experiments in science, an awesome flash program in tech class which I loved, and a math assignment. Of course, we all agree that school and homework are really boring. So, here is something interesting; the outfit I wore. At my school I have to dress business casual and thanks to my grandmother's amazing sense of what is appropriate to wear, I have many cute items in my wardrobe that I can mix and match. Today I wore gray walking shorts with small bow ties on the bottom, a white long sleeved shirt with a black and red checked scarf with twisted tassels on the bottom. For accessories I have on a red and brown charm bracelet and a fake, but very convincing, diamond ring. With my purple-tipped hair put up in a pony-tail, I brought the tone of the outfit down a notch.

Just Think About It

I love poetry. I especially love writing poetry, and I will post some poems I've written in the past along with more recent ones I have written. Today, though, I'm not going to talk about my poetry. Its other's poetry. There is one poem that I particularly like, but that is probably because many people in my family know it and can recite it from memory, including me. If you are interested in poetry you should check it out. It is called "The Jaberwocky" by Lewis Carrol. I enjoy reciting this poem because there are many made up words that are really fun to say. As a young kid I loved listening to my mom read it aloud to me, and now I take pleasure in reciting it from memory with her, my twin, my grandma, and yes, even my 5 year old brother. If you have any great poems you think I, or others, would enjoy, feel free to let me know! Just leave a comment saying what the poem is called and the author.

Musical Thought

Something that has been on my mind. Everyone likes music, right? Okay, so I love how Hayley from Paramore sings the song "The Only Exception" beautifully. The only problem I have is that the song is getting overplayed on the radio, and I'm starting to get bored. Songs as good as that, although many people would like to here them alot, should not be played TOO much, because then a great song just becomes an annoyance.

Getting Started

Starting this blog was not easy for me. I had to decide what I wanted to write about and come up with an original name. I, not being very good at coming up with things so original, or even making decisions, got a headache. So, that being said, I hope whoever ends up reading this will enjoy what I have to say.
